Hosted by Brookdale Community College, the 2018 LEADERS Institute will take place June 10 - 15, 2018, in Red Bank, New Jersey.

The LEADERS Experience

The national board for the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) supports the advancement of community college women into leadership positions. The LEADERS Institute is a five day, content-intensive, experiential workshop, based on the AACC Core Competencies for Community College Leaders.  In AAWCC, we believe that we lead from where we are, and the LEADERS Institute promotes the development of women’s leadership skills and qualities at every level in community college education and administration.  The Institute is designed to prepare women leaders for career opportunities, career advancement, and executive-level leadership positions, including the presidency.

Graduates of the LEADERS Institute are recognized for their excellence in collaboration, encouragement and support for each other, their appreciation that many styles of leadership co-exist, and continuing expansion of their professional talents based on a strong personal foundation.  Over the course of 37 years of successes, LEADERS Institute has established a coalition of more than 6,000 women leaders.

Application Process

Application Deadline:
April 1, rolling until cohort fills

Tuition Cost

Tuition fees of $1,995.00 include:

·        15 workshops and presentations led by community college presidents and other senior-level leaders

·        networking access to women presidents

·        all workshop materials

·        continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily, two dinners

·        certificate of completion

·        one year of membership in AAWCC

Tuition fees are due within 30 days of notification of acceptance to the program. Payments should be made payable to AAWCC, and mailed to:

Hotel Information*

The LEADERS institute has arranged for a group rate of $179 per night at the Oyster Point Hotel on the Navesink River in Red Bank, New Jersey.

Reservations can be made by calling 732-530-8200. Please be sure to ask for the Leaders Institute Block when reserving to ensure that you get the special rate.  Group rate is available 3 days before and 3 days after the Institute dates if you would like to spend some extra time enjoying New Jersey.
