AAWCC Scholarships

National Board Scholarship

AAWCC will award a $500 scholarship per region to one student who meets the national board scholarship criteria. AAWCC created this national scholarship as an ongoing effort to champion women in each region and maximize their potential.  The scholarship is open to women who are currently attending any community college in the United States. The scholarship is also available to women who are transferring to a 4-year institution and have attended any community college in the United States within the last 3 years. The $500 scholarship will be available through a competitive process. 


Scholarship applications and all supplemental materials should be sent to your AAWCC Regional Director.

Doctoral Scholarship

AAWCC is pleased to announce its annual $1,500 doctoral scholarship for women who are pursuing or interested in pursuing a doctoral degree.  The scholarship will be awarded for use during the 2024-2025 academic year for education expenses related to a doctoral program. The scholarship is restricted to women who have been or are employed full-time at any community college in the United States.  Preference will also be given to women who document completed coursework in community colleges.  The $1,500 scholarship will be available through a competitive process. 


Those interested should complete the scholarship application, along with the required supporting documents.  The deadline for submitting the 2024 scholarship application is Friday, September 13, 2024 at the following link:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PQFBT7S


LEADERS Institute Scholarship

The national board of AAWCC supports the advancement of community college women into leadership positions.  As a commitment to the mission, the Board will award a scholarship to a national AAWCC member who works at a community college to attend the LEADERS institute.  The AAWCC scholarship for LEADERS will include registration. 


The deadline for submitting the 2024 scholarship application has passed. Check back in 2025 for the next scholarship round.

The AAWCC awards three forms of scholarships: national regional scholarships for students, doctoral scholarships for women who have been or are employed at US community colleges and pursuing their doctoral degree, and LEADERS Institute scholarships for women to attend the LEADERS Institute.
