National Board of Directors Election Announcement!

The American Association for Women in Community Colleges’ election committee is seeking nominations to our National Board of Directors. Each of these positions will serve a three-year term without compensation, but are eligible for reimbursement associated with travel per board financial policies.  Terms will commence July 1, 2019, through June 2022.  The following positions are open:

Vice President for Membership

Vice President for Resource Development

Regional Director Positions for Regions 2, 4, 6 and 8 

The following regions represent the corresponding States.  

Region 2: West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, District of Columbia, Virginia, and North Carolina

Region 4: Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky

Region 6: Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Minnesota

Region 8: California, Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, and Alaska

Serving on the AAWCC Board is one of the best professional development opportunities one can imagine, coupled with high expectations.  Board members are expected to serve fully in their respective roles and actively participate in the affairs of the Association, such as attending monthly board phone meetings every 1st Thursday of each month, the Annual Board Meeting and Breakfast Awards Program in April, and the National Conference in October, and to contribute to the work of the Association to maintain our mission, display our values, and champion the needs and interest of women students and women working in community colleges.

The women in our colleges need our support.  Please send us nominations, or self- nominations.  Elections begin late February.
